Say good-bye to the fake earrings!!

Emmilyne has been obsessed with earrings for a long time. We have lost numerous stickers and clip on earrings for years now as she has waited to get her ears pierced. So finally I started thinking to myself "why am I making her wait she is old enough to take of her ears so I should just let her get them pierced."

For Christmas I gave her a box with a pair of earrings and a note giving her the gift of a girl's day out to get her ears pierced. She opened it, got red in the face and almost burst into tears while saying "no thanks". I was SHOCKED to say the least. I thought I was the one holding her back. She said she was too scared that it would hurt. Emmilyne is my child who cries when her brother William gets his immunization shots and he doesn't even cry. I also realized that before Christmas she had been watching The Parent Trap and in the movie one of the twins has her friend pierce her ears with a needle at camp. SO, I said no problem I don't care.....

The idea obviously was turning around in her head because she came to me a couple of weeks ago and said she was ready and really wanted her ears pierced. She invited her friend Courtney and her mom Tammy (who is a nurse and has numbing cream to put on the ears so you don't feel anything) and she DID IT and LOOOOOOOVES IT!!!

Can we say SCARED to death!!
